5 Bedroom House in Ruidoso

The Big House is a sprawling 5 bdrm, 3 bath, 2 living rm affair designed to support your whole family vacation in style. The open concept kitchen/dining/living area features a full size shuffleboard table under a window framing Sierra Blanca, a gas fireplace below a flat screen, satelite connected TV, and some unique Texas style seating. On the other side of the marble top bar there is a gas range and a kitchen with all the food prep and cook ware any chef could need. Dishwasher, double ovens, pantry, fridge/freezer combo, ice maker, and RO softened water complete the room. Cook big and serve your crew at the pine dining table, and then adjourn to the downstairs TV/bar/poker table/wood burning fireplace room decorated in the style of a mountain dive bar. Why yes that is a skunk pelt hanging on the wall, thank you for asking, and yes we have talked and laughed well into the night on a number of occasions, and we invite you to do the same!! After drinks downstairs head up to the master suite and enjoy the private balcony for a night cap before sliding into the comfortable king bed, and pulling the black out shades until it's time to do it all over again. The master bathroom features a walk in closet, two sinks, and a huge shower with two shower heads. There are a washer and dryer in case y'all get messy feel free to do a load of laundry. The other direction out of the kitchen leads to the 4 downstairs bedrooms...the front room sports bunk beds, a TV, and a kids table and chairs for the little ones to conduct kid business. The next room down the hall is dual closeted and contains a comfy king bed, two nightstands, and bench. The back two bedrooms flank two full bathrooms, one more set of bunk beds in one, and a queen in the other. Both offer loads of closet space for your things. The backyard begins with a dual seating area deck and propane/charcoal grill BBQ. From there the yard falls away into a wooded ravine where we play with our dogs and enjoy nature under the stars.

Summary: House was beautiful and clean and spacious! Location is perfect with surrounding woods and bustling town life just blocks from the front door. However, my family and guests experienced a rude and impolite encounter with the owner when she barged into the house only notifying my 12 year old son who opened the door that she was the owner rather than asking to speak with his parents. She walked in and demanded to know who the “renter” was. After my mother in law requested to know her name , I explained that I was the one renting the property. She again demanded to know how many people were staying in the house . When booking the reservation we had noted that there going to be 10 people staying at the house . However, this being a get- away and opportunity for us to reconnect with our friends and family from Ruidoso over the holiday , we had invited two more adults to stay the weekend with us. We did not believe this to be a problem because the listing states “sleeps 12.” She then made up some story that there were too many people in the house at the time and that the fire department only allows for 10 people in the house at a time. Then why does the listing state “12 people”??? I apologized for not updating her on The two extra people but there are so many other ways she could’ve approached that situation. Her bursting in on our family dinner making my guests and myself feel very uncomfortable was off putting to say the least. My guest was so embarrassed and ashamed to be sitting at the table eating dinner that explained to her apologetically that he was just about to eat and then leave. My friend had every right to enjoy a hot meal before he made his four trek back to Albuquerque at night, especially after him hunting all day. I paid in full the amount that was required to rent this property so this was a very upsetting and dismal experience on out vacay.

Summary: House was fantastic! Great location and plenty of amenities. Bedrooms were spacious and house layout was great for multiple families. Had everything we needed to have a great get together with family. Loved the lounge area with fireplace.
